Prague

Ahoj!

(= Hi in Czech)

As I have already changed my location for Christmas, I would like to share few pieces of information about my hometown, Prague. I was born in Prague and I love this city. Prague is neither too big nor too small, it has many things to offer, beautiful places and countless historical monuments. I was really looking forward to walking in picturesque Prague streets again. Hence, I would like to share the beauties of this city with you.

Prague is in the middle of Europe, which is convenient for travelling as you can reach many places only by car. Prague has population of approximately 1,2 million and people speak Czech here, which is challenging language to learn. Even some Czechs struggle with some words and do not know how to write them correctly. For example, my boyfriend often asks me how to write some words 😀 (he does not read my blog, so I am safe to mention it). We pay with Czech koruna (crown) and whether we will ever accept Euro, that is in the stars. In Prague, you can find a seat of many institutions and seat of our presidents, too.

You can find a lot of places of interest which are worth visiting. Just to mention few of them – Prague Castle, Old Town Square with famous Astronomical Clock, Charles Bridge, Kampa, Petřín, Wenceslav Square – these are, in my opinion, must see despite a short stay. Prague is not only about historical places but plenty of cool modern places have occurred lately as well. Since I moved to Sweden, I perceive it even more because in the past, I was a bit disappointed that Prague has not so many cosy cafés, places to enjoy warm weather or other things which (especially) younger generations require. However, it has changed a lot! Currently, Prague has too many appealing places that I had to make a list of what I want to see/do/eat even though I left only few months ago 😀

I am thinking about writing separate post including tips what to do in Prague as I would like you to enjoy Prague to full in case you travel here. I have a lot of tips which I would like to share with you.

I hope you are enjoying Christmas mood.

Sending greetings from Prague!

Denisa
